Givenchy Fall/Winter 2016 Women’s Show
Mood/style:
bold, strong and tremendously sexy. Givenchy women are like that. After the last Spring-Summer 2016 collection, which showed in New York proposing slip dresses and lingerie-inspired garments, this time Riccardo Tisci writes a new chapter in the Maison’s book, focusing on a deliberate sensuality made of pop elements, military uniforms, clear references to the Egyptian culture and psychedelic echoes. The result confirms the undisputed talent of Tisci in interpreting today’s fashion, in knowing how to combine various artistic movements and trends, in being able to re-read history in a new way. The strict military tailcoats therefore give way to the urban total black bomber jackets, colourful dresses coexist with python print trench coats, bermuda shorts with animal print furs in a mix and match which represents a well considered blend of different genres and cultures, the elegant collision of styles from which the new uniform of Givenchy comes from
