MFW Spring 2020: Giorgio Armani Triumphs Again
From Sep. 17 to Sep. 23, Milan Fashion Week spring ’20 featured shows and presentations from powerhouse brands like Armani, Moschino, Fendi, Versace, Gucci, Bottega Veneta and more, with Kaia Gerber, the Hadid sisters and even Jennifer Lopez gracing the runways.
Amoung many brands and collections, in my opinion, this year Armani was the number one.
For MFW he describes his collection saying:” It is a metaphor of femininity but also the representation of a gradual lightening and a link with nature’s elements, filtered down through creativity and imagination”.
From what I saw during Armani Fashion Show, I can say he didn’t stray from his idealised woman: moneyed, glamorous and floating on a cloud, or in this collection’s case, wrapped in a cloud of ruffled organza.
As a matter of facts, he paid tribute to nature in the spring collection for his main line, using earthy tones, floral prints and intricate embroideries in the Milan Fashion Week presentation.
I personally felt in love with his trademark trouser suits, presenting short jackets with round collars and shoulders, exploring earthy tones and floral prints.
If Armani takes the number one in my personal taste, I really appreciated also Moschino Debut with his Picasso-Inspired Collection.
Exactly; The Italian fashion house Moschino debuted an artful spring 2020 collection, with designs inspired by the works of Pablo Picasso.
The show saw hand painted prints digitally rendered in a plethora of rainbow colours drawing inspiration from both the artist himself and his many muses, Bella Hadid became a harlequin dream in a ruffle trimmed catsuit, while elsewhere Irina Shayk hit the runway as a high fashion bumble bee-esque violin.
Such an inspiring idea was the combination between art and fashion.
