I had the honour to meet Ms Manal in her wonderful Atelier in United Arab Emirates: Umm Suqaim – Jumeirah Beach Road- Dubai.
She`s beautiful, generous and very talented.
But let’s talk about her life, did you know she was born in Damascus? Yes, the city of Jasmines! Founded in the 3rd millennium B.C., Damascus is one of the oldest cities in the Middle East. In the Middle Ages, it was the centre of a flourishing craft industry, specializing in swords and lace. The city has some 125 monuments from different periods of its history – one of the most spectacular is the 8th-century Great Mosque of the Umayyads, built on the site of an Assyrian sanctuary.
She were affected by its culture and deeply loved its art and heritage. This wonderful city influenced her fashion style and her fashion creations. Her passion for the city of Jasmines is clearly visible in her designs and exhibitions.
Manal message is strong and unique: her designs clearly view her aims at clarifying her country’s current position through a return to the past and present pulse of building a better future. Is clear how she would like to Change the World and make it a better place also through her wonderful fashion dresses.
Where does she take ispiration for her unique fashion creations?
“From the sun shining on an old stone. I feel that every day the sun shines a hope of ongoing life is born. In other hand old stones reminds me of the past. My collection has a relation between the past and the future.”, she said.
I want to show you her favourite dress: is the protagonist of the bridal collection.
This dress enphatise how Syrian outfit design was influenced by Sumerian design and became more cinched at the waist with several styles and curve in a unique dress.
For a designer known for her refined elegance, femininity is the hallmarks of Manala fashion concept. She continued to update this vocabulary by playing with classic elements coupled with doses of glamour.
Do you want to have some anticipations on her next Collection?
She said it will be very international and it will be a surprise able to involve the spirituality in all its forms.
This collection will be different as far as developing more spiritual concepts in the dresses.
Can’t wait for next Manal Event with Maserati on the 17 of March 2017.
