Fashion Flowers for Melania Trump $50K D&G Floral Jacket
Such a wonderful Tribute to Italian Fashion … for Melania Trump during her first day in Taormina!
During her arrival in Sicily, where her husband is attending a G7 summit, on Thursday evening wearing her third outfit of the day, Melania stepped out on Friday morning in the coastal down of Catania, making a very stylish statement in a floral coat by Dolce & Gabanna, which was covered with colorful 3-D flower embellishments – and came complete with a matching $1,630 purse by the Italian luxury label.
Yes, it is true: the First Lady steps out in sunny Sicily wearing a $51,500 floral jacket – but removes the designer duds for helicopter ride with US Army soldiers.
But… let’s discover something moreabout this jacket: This amazing floral jacket, (the “3D flower” jacket) is from the Italian design house’s fall 2017 ready-to-wear line, and it’s not yet available in most stores. However, the luxe retail website, Moda Operandi, has already sold out; those who made the purchase were required to make a $25,750 deposit, in good faith until delivery.
And.. what about the other elements of her outfit? Melania opted to pair the quirky piece with a simple beige dress and heels by the same designer, adding a pair of sunglasses to protect her eyes against the bright sunshine.
This is a great success for Dolce & Gabbana. How did they react?
Gabbana has celebrated each appearance with Instagram posts. He shared three photos of the floral jacket, worn over a simple white shift dress, with Mrs. Trump looking model-perfect as she stepped out of an SUV. Gabbana tagged the photo with hearts and a “Thank You” to @flotus #melaniatrump.
Dolce & Gabbana have made Sicily their fashion muse, so it made sense that Trump’s wife would wear their designs in Sicily, the final stop on Trump’s trip.
The White House did not respond to requests for comment on how much Mrs. Trump, a former model and the wife of an independently wealthy president, paid for the jacket.
The U.S. government does provide first ladies with a wardrobe allowance.
Thank you Melania… For choosing our best designers!!
