Undoubtedly Tommy Hilfiger is one of the world’s leading designer lifestyle brands and is internationally recognized for celebrating the essence of classic American cool style, featuring preppy with a twist designs.

But who is really Tommy? He was born on March 24, 1951, in New York. Tommy has built his brand, using his signature red, white and blue tag, which has become popular among the upper class and the casual buyer. Before making his immensely popular product, he opened several stores in the ’70s. It wasn’t until 1985, when he was approached to design a men’s sportswear line with his name that he took off into the stratosphere of fame and fashion.

Therefore founded in 1985, Tommy Hilfiger delivers premium styling, quality and value to consumers worldwide under the Tommy Hilfiger and Hilfiger Denim brands, with a breadth of collections including Hilfiger Collection, Tommy Hilfiger Tailored, men’s, women’s and kids’ sportswear, denim, accessories, and footwear. Furthermore, the brand is licensed for a range of products, including fragrances, eyewear, watches and home furnishings.

Is absolutely amazing that, the founder Tommy Hilfiger remains the company’s Principal Designer and provides leadership and direction for the design process.

For Tommy there were also difficult periods, in facts, in 1994, the year Hilfiger was the frontrunner for the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America Menswear Designer of the Year, CFDA decided not to give the prize at all. They, later relented, and gave it to him in 1995.

But today his success is internationally recognized, in facts, today Hilfiger continues to be the principal designer of his brand, and there are more than 1,400 of his stores in 90 countries throughout North America, Europe, Latin America and the Asia Pacific region. Global retail sales of the Tommy Hilfiger brand were US $6.7 billion in 2014.

Did you know that in 2010, is a global apparel and retail company with more than 17,000 associates worldwide?. His brand have definitely  the support of strong global consumer recognition.

 

In 2016, he took his “classic American cool” looks in a new direction. Is wonderful to know that he partnered with Runway of Dreams to create a line of adaptive clothing for children with disabilities.
