Latest Trends in Baselworld 2017: Watches Become Classic and Even More Practical!
The hundredth edition of Baselworld 2017 is the most important fair in the world, in terms of amount and percentage of the watch and jewellery market, for jewellery trade show.
This year, the show was from March 23 to 30. The trade show is held each year in the Swiss city of Basel, and it attracts top watchmakers from around the world.
This fair was so unique and amazing even if we saw a decrease of exhibitors brand booths, from 1,500 units to 1,300 . From Rolex to Tag Heuer to Omega, some of the leading watch makers and fashion houses descend on Basel to unveil their latest luxury timepieces.
First of all we know, since S.I.H.H. Geneva already highlighted, that several Brands, tried to rationalize the portfolio collections, focusing on the best seller, the accredited reputation and, where possible, the historical legacy.
In this specific context, then, the original style inspiration, was predominant as demonstrated by TAG Heuer Autavia, Tudor Black Bay, Rolex Sea-Dweller, Omega Railmaster, Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe, Ventura Hamilton, and Banana Tissot, just to name a few. In terms of men’s field size, the measures were focused on 42 mm diameter, 40/41 mm, while 44/45 mm have been decidedly limited.
Watchmakers and jewellers have once again descended upon the city of Basel, Switzerland, to present their extravagant creations.
Very impressive were also Chopard Happy Ocean, the sophisticated Tudor Clair de Rose, Hermès Nantucket , Glashütte Original Pavonina, the “crazy” Breguet Reine de Naples, the Bulgari Snakes, or Maurice Lacroix Tale until the historical Bulova Rubaiyat .
We can say it was a great success for Baselworld, the most important trade event for the watch and jewellery industry, and its celebration of its 100th anniversary.
